Whatsapp announced on Tuesday the new features for the groups, and said that they are now moving forward to both Android and iPhone users with the latest versions of the stable app. Many of these new features are seen in pre-android beta build, construction or development on stable platforms, but were disabled by default. New features include new group details, new controls for administrators of Whatsapp group, mention of an attribute, as well as the ability to find participants. All new features will apply to new and existing groups.
Group producers can now add group details while grouping, allowing them to show brief ambiguity to the participants who describe the group’s objectives, guidelines or topics. Details of the group can be changed by group administrators and participants, in which administrators have the option of restricting participants by doing so.
Other new WhatsApp Setup Administrator controls include the ability to control who can change group topics and icons – providing them an option between all the participants or just the administrator. Group Administrators can now also remove admin permissions from other group participants, while Group Builders can no longer remove them from a group created by them.
WhatsApp users can also use the new mention feature in the group. It is also called ‘group catch up’, this feature lets users find messages in which they are mentioned, or messages that they answer. To find these messages, WhatsAppSite users only need to tap the button that now appears in the lower-right corner of the chat
Now, whatsapp users will be able to find in the group by visiting group information section within the user group. Facebook-owned company also announced that it has made it difficult for users to re-add them to the dropped groups – an effort to reduce spam group invitations.
Whatsapp said, “The group has an important part of the Whatsapp experience, even if it is connecting to family members around the world or years of childhood friends contacting.
